FLASS hosted three on-campus graduation ceremonies on 20 and 22 November. It was the first time since the pandemic that the ceremonies were held inside the Sports Complex, allowing family members and friends to witness the proceedings in person. In the academic year 2024/25, over 1,500 students graduated from 25 programmes offered by FLASS, including seven taught postgraduate programmes, two PGDEs and 16 bachelor’s degree programmes. This year, eleven students from FLASS were awarded the President’s Honour title in recognition of their academic excellence.
On two very sunny days, the campus was transformed into a grand celebratory venue. Around 950 students graduating from various FLASS programmes attended the three ceremonies. Pride shone as graduates in caps and gowns stepped across the stage, joy filled the air as classmates reunited, and warm conversations with teachers made the day feel especially meaningful. Walking the campus with family and friends brought back memories they will hold close for many years to come.
Dean of FLASS Professor Li Wai-keung officiated the three ceremony sessions. In his congratulatory speech, Professor Li encouraged graduates, whether they become teachers, community workers, financial advisers, sports professionals, or enter other fields, to use the knowledge, skills, experience and values they have gained at EdUHK to help others and contribute to society. “May your curiosity continue to motivate you to learn, to explore yourself and the world. And may you use your knowledge to contribute towards a better society,” he said.
From the proud moments crossing the stage to warm hugs and laughter with teachers and friends, the ceremonies carried a sense of genuine accomplishment. When graduates reflect on their time at EdUHK and their joyful graduation celebrations, they will appreciate their strong connections to FLASS and the university.
We wish them success, fulfilment and happiness in the years ahead.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
